History Of The Engineering drawings

Before we find out more about engineering drawings , would be helpful to know in advance what it was engineering drawings. The engineering drawings is a fusion between art image and image science that can be used to solve some of the problems of engineering. If we trace the history of engineering drawings then we will know that before the engineering drawings, human civilization has been aware of the art image in advance . That is evidenced by the discovery of expert evidence of archaeological objects in the form of art image that is on the rocks and ancient walls . Pictures of art found it shows that the image of art is a tool used to express thoughts , wishes , feelings and events that occurred during the period.

initially the engineering drawings practiced by Leonardo Da Vinci in the 15th century until the 16th century, so he called the father of the Engineering drawings. And in the last 16th century, Gaspard Monge is a mathematician from France found a drawing system using two projection plane perpendicular to each other. Or the system can be called with a projected bracket or orthogonal projection. In that year the projection is so well known and often used to draw the design of building ships and armaments.

Later in the 18th century many techniques that prioritize the establishment of school subjects in the curriculum of engineering drawings. It happened because at that time a scientist James Watt from english invented the steam engine, which resulted in a massive turnover in the production process at the factory. Which was originally in the production process using human and animal power, now replaced using a steam engine. Because the massive turnover that happened, it requires a language of communication between planners with implementing whose languages it should be brief and clear. Then start using working drawings that can be understood by both parties. From there began the establishment of technical schools that give priority subjects engineering drawings.

There are so many people who give a sense of the engineering drawings, following some understanding of engineering drawings according to some figures:
FH. Homan and Ir. Sutomo Wongsotjitro, technical drawing is the language used between the designers and implementers.
- James S.Rising dan Maurice W.Almfedt, engineering graphic is the combination of these arts and science of drawing applicable of the solution of engineering problems.
- Thomas E.French dan Charles I.Fierck, engineering drawing is the graphic language used into the industrial world by engineers and designers to express and record the ideas and information necessary for the building of machines and structures.
- Warren I. Luzadder, technical drawing is a graphic language that is used universally by engineers to describe the shape and size of structures and mechanism.

So we can conclude that the engineering drawings should be understood between the designer image by executing an image in the form of short, clear, and leaves no aspect of the art of the picture (the beauty of the picture).
